About

WHO WE ARE

A Leather Label for the Whole Wardrobe, Not Just the Jacket

Most leather brands in New Zealand make you a jacket and send you somewhere else for everything else. We never understood that.

EXODUS makes sixteen categories of women’s leatherwear — dresses, skirts, pants, shorts, tops, corsets, bodysuits, jumpsuits, blazers, vests, jackets, coats, suits, capes, loungewear and accessories. More than a hundred cuts, all in genuine full-grain leather, all made to order.

We started because the leather market here offered women two things: a jacket, or nothing. Everything else was either polyurethane pretending to be leather, or a designer piece at a price that assumed you’d only ever own one. There was no middle. No one was making a leather dress you could actually afford, in a size that actually existed, cut to a body that was actually yours.

So that’s what we make.

Our Mission

To make genuine leather clothing that fits every woman who wants it. Every size we can cut, every piece cut to her own measurements, at a price that doesn’t need an explanation.

Our Vision

For EXODUS to be the name New Zealand thinks of first when it thinks of leather. Not for one jacket in one season, but for a wardrobe a woman builds over years and hands on afterwards.

What We Believe

The Material

Full-Grain Leather, Chosen by Hide

Full-grain means the outermost layer of the hide, with its natural grain left intact. Nothing sanded off, nothing corrected, nothing coated to hide a flaw. It’s the only grade that develops a patina with age instead of cracking or peeling, and it’s the difference between a piece you keep and a piece you replace.

It costs more because it needs better hides with fewer surface marks. We think that’s the right place to spend the money.

  • Lambskin — the lightest and softest. It drapes rather than stands, which is why every dress, top, blazer and pair of trousers we make is cut from it.
  • Cowhide — thicker and firmer. It holds a shape instead of falling into one, which is what a biker jacket, a pencil skirt or a handbag needs.
  • Sheepskin — the hide with the wool left in. The warmest thing we make, and a genuine cold-weather material rather than a style choice.

We never use PU, faux, vegan or bonded leather. Not in a lining, not in a trim, not anywhere.

Craft & Origin

Designed in New Zealand. Handcrafted in Sialkot.

We’re a New Zealand brand. We design here, size to New Zealand measurements, price in New Zealand dollars, and answer the phone here.

Our garments are made in Sialkot, Pakistan, in a partner workshop we’ve worked with since 2019.

Sialkot has been a leatherworking city for generations, and that isn’t a figure of speech. The people cutting your garment learned the trade from their fathers, who learned it from theirs. Hand-cutting leather to a set of measurements is not a skill you pick up in a season — it takes years to do badly and decades to do well.

We say all this plainly because it’s true, and because it’s the more interesting answer. A garment cut by hand by someone whose family has done this work for three generations is not the same object as one that came off a line. That’s worth telling you about, not hiding.

Nothing is pre-made. There’s no warehouse of stock waiting for a buyer. Every piece is cut after you order it, for you specifically, over five to seven days.

What We Decided Early

Four Things That Aren't Up for Negotiation

Every Size, Every Piece

XS to 4XL across the entire range. Not a separate line, not three styles out of a hundred. A woman shouldn't have to be average to dress well.

Made to Your Measurements

Send three measurements and we cut to them. No surcharge, no minimum, no premium tier. Leather doesn't stretch, so getting the fit right matters more than anywhere else.

Made to Order Only

Nothing is pre-made. Five to seven days of cutting and finishing, for one person. It's why we take three weeks instead of three days, and the entire point.

Free Shipping, No Minimum

Every order, every address in New Zealand, rural delivery always included. No minimum spend and nothing added at checkout. The price you see is exactly what you pay.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is EXODUS Apparels?

EXODUS Apparels is a New Zealand women’s leather clothing brand. We make leather dresses, skirts, pants, tops, corsets, jackets, coats and accessories in sizes XS to 4XL, using full-grain lambskin, cowhide and sheepskin.

Three things. We make the full leather wardrobe rather than jackets alone — sixteen categories across more than a hundred cuts. Every garment runs XS to 4XL, where leather sizing in New Zealand typically stops at 2XL. And custom measurements are included at no extra cost on every piece, rather than offered as a premium tier.

EXODUS Apparels is a New Zealand brand based in Auckland. We sell online only across New Zealand, with no showroom.

Our garments are designed in New Zealand and handcrafted in Sialkot, Pakistan, in a partner workshop we’ve worked with since 2019. Every garment carries a country-of-origin label, as required for clothing sold in New Zealand.

Does EXODUS Apparels accept returns?

Because every piece is cut to your individual measurements, we can’t accept change-of-mind returns. If a piece arrives faulty or not as ordered, we repair, replace or refund it at no cost to you.

Every EXODUS garment is available from XS to 4XL, and any piece can be cut to your exact measurements at no additional cost.

Nothing is pre-made. Production takes five to seven days, plus approximately fourteen days in transit — around three weeks in total to any New Zealand address.

Yes. We use full-grain lambskin, cowhide and sheepskin — genuine leather with the natural grain intact. We never use PU, faux, vegan or bonded leather.

Before You Order

Not Sure About Sizing? Ask Us First

Every EXODUS piece is cut to order, so we can’t take change-of-mind returns. That makes fit worth getting right before anything is cut, not after.

Send us your measurements and tell us what you’re looking at. We’ll check them against that style and come back within one working day — with anything that looks off, and what we’d recommend instead.

No obligation. We'd rather answer a question than remake a garment.
